Damian McKenzie scored 20 points as the Chiefs beat the Blues in Auckland on Saturday, in a repeat of last year’s Super Rugby Pacific final.
The All Blacks playmaker crossed the whitewash twice in the second half and kicked 10 points as the Chiefs fought back from an eight-point deficit in wet conditions to win the opening round clash of the 2025 competition 25-14 at Eden Park.
The Blues won the all-New Zealand final 41-10 at the same venue eight months ago.
