Max Verstappen has thanked engine manufacturer Honda on social media after taking a stunning win at the Japanese Grand Prix, gifting the Japanese manufacturer his helmet.

The Dutchman took his first win of the 2025 season, giving Honda a home Grand Prix win in their final home race with Red Bull before they part ways with the Austrian team.

At the end of the 2025 season, Red Bull and Honda will no longer be working on cooperation, with the Japanese manufacturer moving to Aston Martin, while the Austrian team will use Ford engines in 2026.

“Thank you for everything”

Red Bull and Honda first partnered up for the 2019 season, going on to win four drivers’ world championships and two constructors’ titles over their seven-season period together, including their record-breaking 2023 campaign.

With it being the final Japanese Grand Prix that Red Bull and Honda will race in, the Austrian team donned an all-white livery, and after Verstappen’s superb win, the Dutchman signed his helmet to gift to the Japanese manufacturer.

Verstappen, along with his trophy that he collected for Sunday’s victory, posed with Koji Watanabe, the President of Honda Racing Corporation, handing over the signed helmet.

On it, the Dutchman wrote, “Thank you for everything,” and “The Power of Dreams,” the slogan of the Japanese brand, with his signature also added across the visor.
