Dione Barbosa was a sizeable favorite at UFC on ESPN 65 and showed why when she easily dispatched of Diana Belbita.

After a feeling out process on the feet, Barbosa (8-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) got Belbita (13-10 MMA, 2-6 UFC) to her wheelhouse on the mat and went to work. She advances into position for an arm-triangle choke, then got the tap at the 4:13 mark of Round 1 in the women’s flyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

After winning her octagon debut in May 2024, Barbosa suffered a decision loss to Miranda Maverick in her sophomore appearance in July. After a nearly nine-month layoff, she returned to get her hand raised and put things back on track.

“If I have the opportunity for a finish, for sure I will capitalize,” Barbosa said in her post-fight interview with Michael Bisping.
