The octagon made its lone April appearance at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with UFC on ESPN 65 on Saturday.

Although there were some historic feats on the undercards, the most meaningful result came from the main event. Featherweight contender Lerone Murphy (16-0-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) kept his undefeated record in tact when he outpointed Josh Emmett (19-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) by unanimous decision.

Event stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $161,000.

Debuting fighters went 1-3 at the event.

ChangHo Lee, Ode Osbourne, Dione Barbosa and Rhys McKee earned $50,000 UFC on ESPN 65 fight-night bonuses.

UFC did not issue a Fight of the Night bonus for the fourth consecutive event. The longest stretch without such bonus given was five events in 2015.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC on ESPN 65, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 8-4 on the card.

Betting favorites improved to 7-5 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 12-bout card was 2:34:55.

Murphy’s nine-fight UFC unbeaten streak at featherweight is the longest active streak in the division.

Murphy’s eight-fight UFC winning streak at featherweight is tied with Movsar Evloev for the longest active streak in the division.

Emmett fell to 8-3 since he dropped to the UFC featherweight division in October 2017.

Emmett has suffered three of his five career losses by decision.

Pat Sabatini def. Joanderson Brito

Pat Sabatini (20-5 MMA, 7-2 UFC) has earned four of his seven UFC victories by decision.

Joanderson Brito (17-5-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his UFC losses by decision.

Brad Tavares def. Gerald Meerschaert

Brad Tavares’ (21-10 MMA, 16-10 UFC) 16 victories in UFC middleweight competition are tied with Michael Bisping for most in divisional history.

Tavares’ total fight time of 5:38:35 in UFC middleweight competition is the most in divisional history.

Tavares’ 14 decision victories in UFC middleweight competition are the most in divisional history.

Tavares’ 14 decision victories in UFC competition are tied with Neil Magny for most in company history.

Gerald Meerschaert (37-19 MMA, 12-11 UFC) fell to 3-5 in his past eight fights dating back to April 2022.

Ode Osbourne def. Luis Gurule

Osbourne (13-8 MMA, 5-6 UFC) improved to 4-5 since he dropped to the UFC flyweight division in August 2021.

Osbourne has earned 10 of his 12 career victories by stoppage.

Luis Gurule (10-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his 10-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career.

Torrez Finney def. Robert Valentin

Torrez Finney (11-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) landed just four significant strikes, the lowest number for a decision winner in a three-round UFC middleweight bout.

Dione Barbosa def. Diana Belbita

Barbosa (8-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has earned all four of her career stoppage victories by submission.

Diana Belbita (13-10 MMA, 2-6 UFC) has suffered seven of her 10 career losses by stoppage.

Belbita has suffered all seven of her career stoppage losses by submission.

Rhys McKee def. Daniel Frunza

McKee (14-6-1 MMA, 1-4 UFC) improved to 1-2 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in September 2023.

McKee has earned all 11 of his career victories by stoppage.

Daniel Frunza (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by stoppage.

Loma Lookboonmee def. Istela Nunes

Loma Lookboonmee’s (10-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC) four-fight UFC winning streak at strawweight is tied with Virna Jandiroba for the second-longest active streak in the division behind Zhang Weili (five).

Lookboonmee has earned eight of her 10 career victories by decision. That includes six of her seven UFC wins.

Istela Nunes’ (6-6 MMA, 0-5 UFC) five-fight losing skid is the longest of her career. She hasn’t earned a victory since July 2018.

Nunes fell to 1-6 in her past seven fights dating back to May 2017.

Victor Henry def. Pedro Falcao

Victor Henry (25-7 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has earned three of his four UFC victories by decision.

Pedro Falcao (16-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has suffered four of his five career losses by decision.

Martin Buday def. Uran Satybaldiev

Martin Buday (15-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) has earned five of his six UFC victories by decision.

Uran Satybaldiev (9-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Talita Alencar def. Vanessa Demopoulos

Talita Alencar (6-1-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has earned both of her UFC victories by decision.

Vanessa Demopoulos (11-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) has suffered six of her seven career losses by decision.
