Red Bull has teased a special F1 livery after a Max Verstappen request to change its colours.
Since entering F1 in 2005, Red Bull’s livery has remained largely the same, with only a change to a matte finish in 2016 occurring, along with other sponsor changes, but the base colours have remained the same.
This is something four-time world champion Verstappen requested be changed ahead of his latest title defence in 2025, saying: “The livery, I hope it’s a bit different, we’ve had so many matte-blue cars, but I think sometimes it’s just nice to spice it up a little bit.”
The livery for the new RB21 machine is set to be unveiled on February 18th at the F1 75 live event at London’s O2, with the actual car set to be launched in a shakedown ahead of pre-season testing, which kicks off on February 26th in Bahrain.
In the teaser, a colour palette similar to those which sister team AlphaTauri ran between 2020 and 2023 is visible, with the date of the O2 event.
Red Bull has a history of testing liveries, including most famously in 2015 with its ‘camo bull’ and also ran special testing ones for part of the 2018 and 2019 tests.
