Red Bull has received criticism from the majority of Formula 1 fans for promoting Liam Lawson to replace Sergio Perez ahead of the 2025 F1 season.
The Milton Keynes-based team opted to part ways with Perez to promote Lawson into the Austrian outfit, snubbing Yuki Tsunoda once again.
However, it was announced on Thursday that after just two races, Lawson and Tsunoda would swap seats from next weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.
Lawson’s demotion following the races in Australia and China has led to questions whether the New Zealander should have promoted in the first place.
A recent RacingNews365 poll has shown that most F1 fans believe Lawson should not have been promoted.
Just 31.93% believe Red Bull made the right decision promoting Lawson, with 68.07% pinning it as a mistake.
Remarkably, 36.94% of voters believe Tsunoda should have been given the seat at the start of the season, whilst 23.71% have the opinion that Daniel Ricciardo should have completed his fairytale return to the team.
As for Sergio Perez, only 7.43% of those who voted believe the Mexican driver should have been retained for a fifth season.
