The Pumas scored seven tries against the Cheetahs in Nelspruit on Friday night to remain unbeaten in the SA Cup, while Griquas obliterated Border in East London.

Jimmy Stonehouse’s team led 26-24 at half time before the Cheetahs hit the front early in the second half.

The Pumas were then reduced to 14 men when hooker Jan-Henning Campher was red-carded but were still able to finish strongly to win 46-38.

For coach Frans Steyn’s Cheetahs, it was a second defeat in three matches.

Earlier on Friday, Griquas battered Border 118-3 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium. It was the second consecutive century for the Kimberley-based team against the toothless Bulldogs, having won last year’s SA Cup encounter 119-6.

Meanwhile, coach Allister Coetzee picked up his first win since returning to Port Elizabeth as Eastern Province beat the SWD Eagles 39-26 at Outeniqua Park.
