Head coach Warren Gatland has roped in an icon of Welsh rugby to assist the national team as a set-piece consultant for the 2025 Six Nations.
Former Wales prop Adam Jones has been drafted into Gatland’s coaching set-up as a scrum consultant for the duration of the northern hemisphere tournament.
The 43-year-old Jones, with 95 Test caps for Wales and five British & Irish Lions appearances, will link up with the national team from English club Harlequins on a temporary secondment.

He will assist forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys while maintaining limited connections with his club. The appointment comes after an independent review following Wales’ winless November series, where they lost a record 12th consecutive Test.
With the Welsh set to kick off their campaign against France on 31 January, Jones will return to Quins after their final match against England on 15 March. Performance specialist Andy McCann has also been added to the management team.
