Former Red Bull junior and Formula E driver Jehan Daruvala has explained on social media that he is not currently racing in 2025 due to “many circumstances”.
The Indian driver confirmed it is the first time in 15 years he is not competing in motorsport, something he hopes is a “bump” in the road.
The 26-year-old joined the Red Bull academy in 2020, prior to his first season in F2, where he went on to four races over four seasons, as well as picking up numerous podium finishes.
Daruvala got his first taste of F1 in 2022, when he tested the 2021 McLaren F1 car on three occasions. He was eventually dropped by Red Bull at the conclusion of the following campaign before he turned his attention to a full-time seat Formula E.
Having acted as Mahindra’s reserve during his final year in F2, he stepped into a race seat with Maserti for the 2023-24 season.
Unfortunately, his career in the all-electric series was short lived. Daruvala scored just eight points and was let go at the end of the year.
It is unclear what he is planning for his next steps in motorsport, or when they might be, but the driver was keen to convey his “passion” in his social media post, which can be found below.
