It’s been a busy day in the world of F1, not just for GPblog! Aston Martin have seen their stake increases thanks to Lawrence Stroll, and with the Japanese Grand Prix coming up, special liveries have been announced by teams.
Today, it was announced that Lawrence Stroll would be increasing his current stake that he has in the team, ensuring that the British team will not be going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
A sale from Aston Martin Lagonda means that Stroll has been able to increase his own stake to 33%, while also strengthening the company’s balance sheet by approximately 150 million euros.
“These steps show that Aston Martin’s place on the Formula 1 grid is as secure as ever,” said Stroll when talking about the changes made to the British team.

For the Japanese Grand Prix that is coming up this weekend, it looks like teams will be changing up their liveries for something a bit more special.
One team that has already done that is Haas F1, with their car livery for the weekend inspired by the traditional Japanese cherry blossom.
Red Bull also teased the fact that they could run with a special design on their RB21 in Suzuka, with it being reported by GPblog that they will run a white livery in honour of their partnership with Honda.
After Williams lost Franco Colpinto to Alpine, they have been searching for a reserve driver to join up with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz.
Now they have finally found their driver, Victor Martins, with the Frenchman leaving Alpine earlier this season to replace the incoming Colapinto.
Martins, who had been competing in Formula 2, will now be alongside current F2 driver Luke Browning in the Williams Driver Academy.
