NEWS: Elrigh Louw will go under the knife next week on Tuesday after suffering a serious injury against the Lions at Ellis Park a fortnight ago.

Louw was stretchered off during the first half of the Bulls’ 35-22 victory over the Lions in the United Rugby Championship.

He was immediately taken to hospital, indicating the severity of the injury he suffered.

The Bulls have not given any update on Louw, but it is understood that surgery was delayed due to extreme swelling of the fractured leg.

Rugby365 have learnt that Louw is now scheduled to go under the knife next week on Tuesday and he could be sidelined for months.

“When you get taken straight to hospital, it is serious,” Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White told reporters after the match.

Last week Louw posted a photo of himself recovering in hospital and it was accompanied by the following words: “In Oceans deep my Faith will stand.

“Long and uncertain road ahead, but I WILL be back.

“Thanks for every message and prayer”
