The Blitzboks have been drawn in a challenging pool that includes southern hemisphere rivals New Zealand and Australia for the Vancouver Sevens at the end of February.
South Africa will tackle their foes from the Antipodes, along with Ireland, in Pool B at Canada’s BC Place from 21 to 23 February.
The group-stage clash with Australia offers the Blitzboks a chance to avenge their dramatic cup semi-final loss in Perth last week, where the Aussies went down to Argentina in the final.

New Zealand has struggled for consistency this season, and finished ninth in Perth, yet remain the most successful team in sevens history with 14 series titles.
Ireland are currently bottom of the World Sevens Series standings after three tournaments, but fielded an inexperienced squad Down Under.
South Africa currently sits fourth on the log, four points behind leaders Fiji.
