SA-born Ireland international Rob Herring will pack down for Ulster when the Irish outfit face the Stormers in the Vodacom URC on Friday night.

The veteran hooker starts in the front row alongside Andrew Warwick and Tom O’Toole, adding vital experience to the Ulster scrum for the round 14 clash at Kingspan Stadium.

Herring, who has been a mainstay in the squad since 2012, will be central to their forward battle as the Ulstermen chase a top-eight spot.

With the 34-year-old anchoring the front row, Richie Murphy’s men will look to dominate set piece against a Stormers pack minus the power and nous of two-time Springbok world champion Frans Malherbe, regular skipper Salmaan Moerat and seasoned campaigner Deon Fourie.

Elsewhere, inside centre Stuart McCloskey earns his 200th cap, while Rob Baloucoune returns to the wing. John Cooney partners rookie flyhalf Jack Murphy, with Michael Lowry at fullback.

The fit-again Tom Stewart, in line for his 50th cap, features on the bench, which includes a 5-3 split.
