INJURY UPDATE: Bulls Director of Rugby provided clarity on utility forward Cobus Wiese who went off in the second half of the Bulls’ 33-32 United Rugby Championship victory over the Stormers at the Cape Town Stadium.

Wiese limped off during the second half of the match and White is hopeful that it is not a long-term setback for the bruising forward.

“It’s his ankle, what that means is that it can be from he twisted it to someone stood on his foot or whatever,” White said.

“He had to come off because his ankle was obviously swollen and he couldn’t run on it.

“Hopefully it’s a grade three [injury] and not that serious.”

“It’s a tough competition, every week you get an update on every team and their injuries.”

He added: “It’s not sustainable, we work on the basis of we lose one and a half players every game.

“When I say one and a half, I’m talking about one guy who can have a two-week injury or an HIA.

“You can work on the basis of one is out for a while and one can be out with HIA and he is out for a week or two and need a 12-day mandatory time off.

“Playing 12 months a year, every team has one and a half guys off, it just adds up.”
