The Vodacom Bulls can confirm that scrum-half Bernard van der Linde has signed with British outfit Bath Rugby.

The 24-year-old TUKS alumni will leave the capital for The Rec in July after signing a deal with the Premiership outfit until the summer of 2027. Van der Linde has been a constant feature for the franchise, beginning with junior rugby, where he had impressive runs that eventually earned him a senior contract. He has since gone on to make memorable appearances across the Carling Currie Cup, Vodacom United Rugby Championship and the Investec Champions Cup.

Bernie – as he is affectionately known at Loftus – says he leaves a thankful man with great rugby memories.

“My time at Loftus has come to an end, and I leave with so many fond memories that I have made over the years. I have been so fortunate to have had the chance to represent this jersey and play alongside some amazing players and even better people off the field. I am thankful for the time and friendships I have made,”

“It is always tough to bid farewell to loved ones, but this feels like the right time for me, and I look forward to linking up with my new teammates and the challenge of playing rugby in the North. As a small kid, it has always been rugby all the way. There was never a thought of doing anything else in life, and this is another opportunity to add to that dream.”

Everyone at the franchise wishes Bernard all of the very best in all his future endeavours.
